Why do people that live in heavily congested area's like London believe that everwhere is congested?

Most Londoners live in crowded conditions transport that is bursting at the seams with undergroung trains that were designed in Victorian times for midgets, buses that are full up and taxis that cost a fortune.

Leave the London area and see parts of Essex, Surrey, Hertfordshire, take the blindfold off see your countryside, in fact sell your home in London and you can probably buy a housing estate in Manchester!!

They then vote for Politcians that tell the rest of the country the reasons why we are all congested, polluted and need to pay more tax to pay for global warming.

HEY guys sorry get out see the countryside and the world most people live with gardens and open space is plentiful.

Why do people that live in heavily congested area's like London believe that everwhere is congested?
I moved out of Exeter to leave the condestion nightmare behind! And that's in idyllic Devon!!! It's only a small city compared to London but the traffic is awful, I simply hate having to go there, now (still have to for dentist appointments and such things...). The only good day to go there is Christmas day, when everyone else is staying in, it seems...
Reply:So, any ideas on what to tell my son about MI6?

Thank you for saying I'm always right; I like that. Report Abuse
Reply:i am actually from manchester and didnt realise how busy it was until i moved 2 yrs ago to north wales a quiet place its amazin nice and peaceful i will never go bk ,
Reply:Oh brilliant. Now there's going to be even MORE Londoners bringing their big city attitudes out here and driving housing prices up even further.

They need to sort their city out, not bring their problems to us. If they don't, all of that open greenspace you love will be gone.
Reply:Why do you seem to think that this is a forum where you can hand out pearls of wisdom to supposedly ignorant Londoners??

I've lived in London all my life (21 years) and it's not nearly as bad you're saying it is! It's a wonderful and incredible city; vibrant and diverse. It truly does have a life of it's own - and I absolutely love it. And at the same time I can recognise that not every place in the world suffers from congestion issues.

And it's not just an urban jungle, which other major world city has huge parks right in the heart of it? When's the last time you visited Hyde Park or Regent's Park? There are tons of cultural elements too; museums, shops, cafes, landmarks and so on. Have you ever seen the city at night? How peaceful it is, and how beautiful it looks.

This doesn't mean to say that I hate the countryside because that's got it's good parts too. But London rocks! Fact.
Reply:As others have said it is all people in the metro areas know.

I think it horrid that people live so cramped up, not ever seeing a hedgerow or country lane.

I think it must be like living in the bottom of a well. All one sees is the immediate without seeing what wonderful things lay beyond.

Reply:Because they are used to the congested world.
Reply:For gods sake keep quite...leave the Londoners in London and the rest of the country to us.
