Need help with English homework! Due tomorrow!?

I have 2-3 paragraphs due tomorrow for English homework. I already emailed my teacher asking her questions about it and everything but she will most likely not email back. Anyways, my classmates and I are doing this Park Project thing where you design you own park and there is three people in my group we do different things in our classes. Like for Math we made the roughdraft of it and in History we made the final draft on posterboard. And now in English we are writing an essay about it. :(. There is three topics to write about and the other two people in my group took the best ones. I am stuck with the plants topic. I have to write about if my elements are ecologically and environmentally friendly. But my SS teacher was explaining about like differents kinds of plants but me and my group only put bush, tree, garden. How do I write the essay? I dont get the question! NEED HELP HERE! PLZ!

Need help with English homework! Due tomorrow!?
Parks are wonderful places. When you hear the word "park" you most likely see in your mind a place that is green with grass, plants, flowers, bushes, and trees. Not only do these elements make the park a friendly place for humans and pets alike, but they help the enviroment.

The park will be sodded with tall fescue, a grass commonly used on athletic fields, to improve its durability. This grass is hardy and requires minimum maintenance. It is able to survive droughts as well as subzero temperatures due to its extremely dense root matting. Because of the dense root matting, weeds such as the common dandelion, have a difficult time coexisting with it. This makes the neighbors surrounding the park happy.

One of the shrubs we have chosen is Viburnum, which has berries that aren't only attractive, but attract a variety of birds as well. For the nose we have planned groups of lilacs in a variety of colors. Honeysuckle is another shrub that will be planted in landscaped groups. Both honeysuckle and lilacs will attract butterflies. The ground cover under the shrubs will be cedar chips which is not only colorful, but will retain moisture for the shrubs as well as prevent unwanted growth of weeds.

In the groupings we also plan clusters of ornamental grasses and flowers in season.

It has been decided to plant several aspen trees in the park not only for their beauty, but to delight the ear with their rattling sound when the wind blows through their leaves. In addition to the aspens, there will be several birches and my favorite oaks. The oaks will be attractive to small wildlife because of the acorns. The trees will provide shade, absorb carbon dioxide and give off oxygen.

We will also plant a trio of Scotch pine trees as it is the most commonly chosen tree for a Christmas tree. Whether the city decides to decorate it or not is their decision, but they will be there if they decide to do so.
Reply:Why not go to an online plant and flower site and see what they have? www.Veseys.com is a Canadian site. It also explains what some of the features of their flowers are.

You can also address if these are native plants (found only in North America or wherever you happen to be) and whether they are practical for other reasons (attract butterflies, other insects).
Reply:You are selling your topic short. You have the best topic. If you were to design a park consider

how many shade trees you would have. Trees

produce oxygen. Would you plant trees that bloom twice a year and cause allergies? Same with the flora and the fawna. Consider who would use your park. Would you plant bushes and flowers that could be harmful if ingested? Check out www.nationalgeographic.com for info on plants. Do some research on different types and

the benefits.
Reply:OK YOUR WRITING ABOUT THE PLANTS.. SO YEA MENTION THE BUSH, TREE, AND SO ON. THEN GRAB THE MOST COMMON FOWER YOU COULD FIND THEIR AND GRADUALLY TALK ABOUT IT.. THEN WRITE ABOUT HOW THE WORLD WOULD BE A LITTLE BETTER IF WE TOOK CARE OF OUR ENVIROMENT ... AFTER ENDING- WHAT WE CAN DO TO HELP ENVIROMENT MENTION THE FLOWER HELP PLANTING! GOOD LUCK!! :)
Reply:This sounds like the lamest assignment ever. Your teacher wants specific types of bushes, trees, and flowers. Say you want to fill the park with big trees like oak or maple because they are pleasant to look at and sit under. Then say you want miles and miles of poison ivy so kids will learn the important lesson that when the sign says don't play on the grass, you shouldn't play on the grass.
