Why are we here?

What is the purpose of humans in the scheme of Intelligent Design? If God merely wanted people to worship Him, he could have hard-wired that into the design at the time of creation. Instead, we are given "free-will," but punished if we stray from the path He has chosen. I don't get it... really.

I'm not trying to be rude or to downplay anyone's beliefs, I just don't understand the purpose of designing faulty humans, then blaming them for making mistakes that an omnipotent being should know full well they will make!

You can't tell me that God, who knows all, didn't know that Eve would be tempted and would tempt Adam. And if He did know, why put them through that when He need only have set them outside the Garden in the first place. Was He fulfilling some need to justify His decision?

What kind of craftsman does not correct obvious flaws in the design phase, but instead markets a flawed product?

Why are we here?
To blow our wads. Maybe an ice cream after that.
Reply:Some people ask, “Why did God make man with the ability to sin?”

Well, God had only two choices: make man with free moral agency or make man without free moral agency. And God decided not to make man a puppet or robot; we have the ability to choose and make decisions, either right or wrong. God could have forced man to love and obey Him, but it is His love and goodness that caused Him to create man with free-choice, with the ability to choose sin and reject Him if they want to. Because this is true, when man chooses to love God and obey Him, it has a real and deep significance. Forced love is not true love; it’s not genuine.

As David Lipe has said, “To bring into existence a being who would love and obey God, Jehovah also had to give man the freedom to hate and disobey Him. God wants man to love and obey Him as a result of free choice.”

Life is a test... so, how are you doing with yours?
Reply:I'm a believer and I have thought the same thing lots of times. We will never know the answer. Anyone who tries to say they know the answers are only fooling themselves.
Reply:The question of all questions gets asked ans answered at least 3 times a week. But since you asked again lets talk about it.

Think for a minuet what is the most important thing mankind has ever held. Gold? Naw. Power Nope guess again...Give up? It's

Reply:WHY?

Because there's nothing on TV until Midnite-30, when MY show comes on, and life in THIS world is SO boring, so I "hang out" at Q%26amp;A.

Oh... You you were expecting an answer more theologically philosophical...
Reply:Well if we weren't created with free-will how would we enjoy life the way we wanted. In the beginning God created Adam and Eve to live forever. His purpose for them was to fill the earth and become many (Genesis 1:28). But an angel who wanted to be like god (Satan) wanted everyone to worship him.

So an issue was raised. Satan challenged GOD (Jehovah-Ps.83:18) that more people would want to serve him rather than God. Since Jehovah is a just god he didn't want to kill Satan because if you think about it there are angels in heaven witnessing this and the might start to think well maybe Satan was right since Jehovah just killed him without having a chance to prove him wrong.

So right now that challenge is still in effect. So since Satan is trying to prove Jehovah wrong where living in his world(since Adam an Eve were cast out of the Garden of Eden), not the kind of world God originally intended us to live on. 1 John 5:19-the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one. So Jehovah is giving Satan a certain amount of time for him to try to prove him wrong.(Satan thinks all persons on earth will serve him rather than God)

Now we're awaiting the time when Satan will obviously be the one that's wrong, and the one that will be cut off.
Reply:to share life and Gods kingdom with Him if we listen!
Reply:THE BIG QUESTION!

I believe we are here to find purpose, to find meaning in the context of our very tiny slice of the cosmos. And for me, that means I must turn to God to find it. When I am in line with His purpose for me (as he reveals it to me through prayer, Bible study, walking as He instructs me) I find it. And it is a BLAST man!
Reply:God hates you and the Easter bunny raped your mother when she was a young girl.

Just ask her its the truth, But you never took the time to care.

Sad really, when was the last time you called your mother?

Terrible
Reply:All good points. You are correct.
Reply:We are here to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever!
Reply:Why do you think there's a reason?
