Hallo, I'm looking for a (reader's digest?) book about life in an english farm, on how to live self-sufficient

It's a quite old book, larger than its length (about 20 vertical x 30 orizz cm), maybe around 300 pages, a light beige cover with many designs about country life; the book shows how to manage an energy-self-sufficient farm including a garden with veggies and lots of animals. The farm described is traditional but also ecological... Ok, that's all I can remember! Thank you and love to all, Marta

I think it might be "Back to Basics". Its from reader's digest and it has 456 pages, the size of the book is about 8.5x11.
Reply:A great book to get on the subject is John Seymour Self Sufficiency.

It has been revised and released in the last couple of years and tells you pretty much ever thing you will need to know.

Don't know about the readers digest book but think this one is amazing.
Reply:If you can't find that one, I have " Carla Emery's Old Fashioned Country Recipe Book" It has EVERYTHING! Growing, slaughtering, preserving, animals, all you need. It's out of print, but it's on eBay and Amazon.
