Do you know about childrens art development? is my grandchild a genius or just plain ordinary?

My grand-daughter has designed her own Cristmas card, and drawn a house, placing the four windows at each corner of the square house she has drawn. No roof, just a chimney placed at one (top) corner of the square, and no garden. Is she just repressed?

Yea, if she's like six, then she was just having fun drawing a picture, but if she was under two, I would find someone that knows.
Reply:You dont say how old she is, so it is difficult to answer. If she is pre school, id says thats normal

If she's 2 then she's a genius, if she's 16, she needs help.
Reply:She/he sounds fine just give lots of lovely art materials and glue paper coloured card etc for Christmas along with a plastic tablecloth to preserve your furniture and have fun.

Repression is more likely to show up in behaviour at this age.

Make sure you give positive praise to efforts too then s/he will feel good.
