Is there such thing as Illustration job's in the north east?

My boyfriend has a degree in Illustration but like most people the three years he did getting this qualification was a waste of time and effort as he has found no job's.

Doe's he really need to move from the north east to find a job he is qualified in after all Newcastle is full of Architecture and design. or maybe you can employ him? if so get in contact on my 360 page and leave a message.

At the moment he is busting his ball's off doing gardening for ￡170 a week.....is this fair No

Is there such thing as Illustration job's in the north east?
I'm not sure about specific jobs in the UK (I live in the US), but there are a ton of freelance jobs you can find through the internet. My illustration professor is always doing freelance work, and often he never even meets his clients in person. They contact him through his website (if your bf doesn't have one, he should get one ASAP!), and then e-mail him the details. He uploads his work directly to their servers for viewing, and can easily make corrections and adjustments based on thier comments.

I know your boyfriend may want something a bit steadier, but freelance is a great way to get recognition, and can easily lead to full time work. Definately start by getting a website that showcases his best work. Make sure it's easy to navigate and that his contact info is on every page. Then he can search for jobs and have a place to direct clients to view his work.
Reply:I'm in the same boat when it comes to illustration jobs except I'm in London and oddly there seem to be even less here, despite being always told that all the jobs are in London.



Anyway I've found that the few illustration jobs that there are seem to be either in places op north like Sheffield and Bradford (where hallmark cards are based). or mainly in the south west near Bath and Bristol.
