Are there and teachers out there who have ideas for items to use in a prop box for the following Themes?
This is a great website for little ones (and ideas for us "big ones") ... www.enchantedlearning.com
I go here for all sorts of ideas for holidays and rainy day projects.
I send my children to school for social purposes only, then teach them myself when they get home. Sorry, but I've lost all faith in the school system of Louisiana and feel that they learn nothing at school.
I'd love to help out if I can, and share ideas , but I don't expect payment in return. Seeing children use their imaginations, laughing and learning, is payment enough :)

Reply:Hats. Little kids love hats. All kinds.
Reply:BEACH:
Dramatic play items: empty, sanitized sunblock bottles, beach towels, balls, umbrellas, seashells, plastic fish and other ocean life, sunglasses, large bathing suits, hats, lawn furniture
Math:
Measuring cups and spoons with sand and water; cut suns or fish out in various sizes and have children identify 'smallest', 'largest' etc..and put them in order or cut identical fish out in different colors and have them work on patterning (blue, orange, blue, orange....)...and of course there is always counting sea shells and so forth
Ok, just a couple of ideas...I could come up with a lot more but I just noticed the time...haha!
I would love to share ideas with you on those prop boxes...I think it's a fantastic idea and I am chalk full of activity ideas and I have tons of resource books at home that help me come up with more!!!
